We all know that we must watch out for school children in school zones during those times that they are arriving at or leaving school; however, this is not such a tough thing to do as there is an AM-PM schedule which compresses the risk of driving in areas where there are children.
A far greater risk exists now – that school is out for the summer.
Times when children may be bicycling, chasing a ball, running at play, and darting into our paths are now unregulated: children are outside all day long during their summer vacations.
This means we must be on alert for small people in urban and rural – even business – neighborhoods.
School is out: look out!
